Grant Harris of Bellevue College to Join the 2018 Bellingham Bells

03/05/2018 9:09 AM

The Bellingham Bells have added Grant Harris from Bellevue Community College to the 2018 roster.

“We are thrilled to be continuing our connection with Bellevue College,” Bells’ general manager Stephanie Morrell said. “Over the years, players from Bellevue have been major contributors to the Bellingham Bells both in full-time and ten-day player roles. Furthermore, they have proven to be great competitors and terrific people who enhance our clubhouse culture. We can’t wait to add another Bulldog to the long line of successful Bellevue players to play for the Bellingham Bells.”

Harris is a sophomore outfielder for the Bulldogs.

As a freshman, Harris was one of the better hitters in the conference slashing .314/.464/.536.

He collected 44 hits in 140 at bats and hit a total of five home runs as well as 19 extra base hits. Harris’ .314 batting average was third on the team behind former Bell, Austin Shenton, who hit .395 and 2018 Bell, Mason Cerrillo who hit .353 for the Bulldogs.

This season Harris has played in all seven games for the Bulldogs and is hitting .120 with two RBI and eight walks. He has already stolen one base.

Harris also has the ability to change the game on the base paths as he stole 16 bases last season which was the third most on the team.

“Grant is an outfielder who can flat out run,” Morrell said. “He is going to be a tremendous asset in the field for the Bells. Furthermore, he is a player who can really create opportunities offensively and make the most of opportunities once on base. We look forward to having Grant with us this summer, and think he’s going to be a player fans will really like watching.”

Bellevue Community College has produced many good Bells in the past and Harris will look to continue to that success when he joins the Bells in 2018.
