2017 WCL All-Star Update: Zach Pettway

After coming to the Bells straight out of high school, Zach Pettway has already made an impact as a true freshman for the UCLA Bruins this season.
During Pettways run with the Bells, he showed to be a strong starter in the rotation, finishing the season with a team-high 45 strikeouts in his 40.2 innings pitched. He also closed out the season 4-1, with eight starts and an ERA of 4.20, all proving worthy of All-Star honors.
Pettway has already established his worth for the Bruins this season as well, starting in both of his appearances and going 2-0 so far on the 2018 season. He has a combined ERA of 0.69 over 13 innings pitched with eight strikeouts so far. Most recently, Pettway slung eight scoreless innings against Baylor on February 25th to lead the UCLA to a 3-0 win.
