Former Bells player Sean Halton hit his first professional grand slam last week as part of a 9-for-24 (.375) performance with the Helena Brewers. Hanson was 3-for-3 on Monday, Aug. 17, and a 3-for-4 in the first game he played on Friday, Aug. 21. His first hit on Friday put his team up 4-0 as Halton hit his first professional grand slam. He ended the game with 5 RBI, 2 runs scored, a doubled and a home run.

For the second straight week, Holliman gave his team a great start but was still tagged with a loss. The right-handed prospect tossed 5 2/3 innings on Friday, Aug. 21, and allowed just five hits. He also struck out five, but his two earned runs allowed were enough to give the Huntsville Stars the loss.

After starting the season with the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association, Spurgeon completed his second week with the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League. In two outings, a one inning relief appearance and a 6 1/3 inning start, Spurgeon gave up seven hits and struck out eight while allowing just three runs. He did not factor into the decision in either appearance.
