Six 2016 Bells Named to Perfect Game's Top 30 WCL Prospects List

Six Bellingham Bells have been named among the top prospects in the West Coast League by Perfect Game, the organization announced today. In total, 30 WCL players were named to the list, including Corvallis' Cameron Bishop, who was named the league's top prospect.
Among the Bells honored (listed in order of their respective ranking from Perfect Game) were:
#2 Jared Horn (RHP), Cal (Fr): Horn, named the West Coast League's Top Prospect by Baseball America, was also named to the 2016 WCL All-Star Team and voted to the end of season All-WCL Second Team. Horn was 1-0 for the Bells during the 2016 season with a 1.50 ERA (third lowest on the Bells' pitching staff).
#6 Joey Matulovich (RHP), Cal (So): An All-Star for Bellingham in 2016, Matulovich was the strikeout leader on the Bells' staff, totalling 57 on the season and finishing fourth best amongst West Coast League pitchers.
#7 Spencer Howard (RHP), Cal Poly (So): Howard was spectacular for the Bells in 2016, with a 2-0 record and a 1.33 ERA (second lowest on Bells' pitching staff). He was named an All-WCL Honorable Mention.
# 13 Chase Strumpf (SS), UCLA (Fr): Strumpf, an incoming freshman for the UCLA Bruins, was outstanding in the middle infield for the Bells during summer 2016 and became an almost every day precense at the shortstop position. He finished with 30 RBI on the season and tallied six home runs, three of which came during the post-season.
#22 Austin Shenton (OF), Bellevue College (Fr): Named the WCL's #7 Prospect by Baseball America, Shenton hit .283 for the Bells during the 2016 season with 34 hits, six doubles and a triple.
#28 Shane Hanon (OF), Marshall University (So): The WCL's 2016 batting champion, Hanon led the league with a .331 batting average in 169 at bats with the Bells. Hanon was named to the 2016 WCL All-Star Team and selected to the First Team All-WCL team.
