The Bellingham Bells are excited to announce Tom Prizeman will be the voice of the Bells for the 2016 season. Prizeman will give the play-by-play commentary for all 57 games during the summer.
Prizeman comes to the Pacific Northwest with experience in minor league and summer collegiate baseball. Prizeman spent last season in Northern Kentucky as a broadcasting and media relations assistant with the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League. Prizeman served as a play-by-play broadcaster and a pre and post game host for the 2015 Frontier League Organization of the Year.
“We are thrilled to have Tom on board for the upcoming season,” Bells’ general manager Stephanie Morrell said. “He is exceptionally talented and has valuable experience within summer collegiate baseball. I know our fans will really enjoy listening to him call the action all season long.”
Before his tenure in Florence, the Pleasantville, N.Y. native was a Broadcasting and Media Relations intern with the Hudson Valley Renegades, single A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and a broadcast intern with Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
Prizeman currently studies at Ashland University in Ohio. At AU, Prizeman is the Sports Director for 88.9 WRDL and calls Eagle football, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball and baseball on the station.
Prizeman is ecstatic to join the Bells organization. “The Bells are a top flight organization in one of the best summer leagues in the country,” Prizeman said. “I am very excited to become part of the Bells’ family. I am counting down the days until Opening Day on June 3 in Kelowna.”
