Bells Shut Out in Series Finale
Kitsap starter Trey Watt threw six scoreless innings for Kitsap before handing the ball off to the bullpen. Robert Bleeker, David Macey and Antone Saltvick each tossed an inning in relief for the BlueJackets.
Alex Besaw matched Watt’s effort through the first three innings for the Bells before manager Brandon Newell went to his pen. Zack Fowler, who came in to relive Besaw, was tagged with the loss after allowing four fifth-inning runs during his 1 2/3 innings of work.
Prior to Sunday’s series finale, Kitsap’s Bucky Aona had just one hit for the season. He quickly climbed out of the slump he was in to start the season with a 4-for-4 performance at the plate which included a pair of doubles, three runs batted in and a run scored.
With the loss, the Bells fell to 1-2 on the season and will next be in action as they host the Everett Merchants in a non-West Coast League contest on Thursday at Joe Martin Field. First pitch for the game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and tickets are still available by contacting the Bells Ticket Office.
Thursday is also the first College Night of the season. College students can get $1 their ticket price with valid college identification. Students can also enjoy a great game and great entertainment throughout the evening.
