Bells bats blow up in Opening Night win!

06/06/2009 12:26 PMA great crowd of 1,125 was entertained all game long as the Bells belted hits all over Joe Martin Field on Friday night.  A post game fireworks sponsored by Silver Reef Hotel and Casino capped off a wonderful evening and a great  start to the 2009 season.

Every Bells batter had at least one hit in the 9-1 victory.  Rhett Fenton, Beau Brett, Kevin Whitehead and Craig Hertler had two hits a piece.  Whitehead added a solo homerun the sixth.

Tyrell Poggemeyer was a magician and carried a no hitter into the sixth inning. Poggemeyer only allowed two hits over seven shutout innings while striking out three.  Brandon Foster pitched the final two innings to help secure the Bells victory.

The Bells face off against the BlueJackets in game two of the series on Saturday, June 6 at 7 p.m.  Free massages will be provided at the gate courtesy of Chappaz Massage.
