Bells Hire New Voice

The Bellingham Bells recently hired Michael Weisman to be the voice of the Bells for the upcoming 2013 season. Michael will broadcast all 57 games this summer.
"We are thrilled to have Michael as a member of the Bells this summer," said Bells General Manager Nick Caples. "He brings a lot of talent and experience to the booth in addition to a style that fans will really enjoy tuning in to listen to."
A 2011 & 2012 graduate from the University of Miami (FL), Michael joins the Bells after spending the past five years in Coral Gables, FL. A graduate of both the Miami undergraduate business program, as well as the Miami Sports Management Master’s program, he comes in seasoned in multiple facets of sports.
He began his broadcasting career in 2009 for WVUM, the University of Miami radio station. Gaining experience in volleyball and women’s basketball, he became the Assistant Sports Director for the station in 2011. He served as part of the voice of “The U” over those five years, calling ACC action in football, men’s basketball, and of course baseball.
In addition to experience behind the microphone, Weisman has worked in many other areas of athletics. Mike spent three years working for the University of Miami Athletic Department in the fundraising office, as well as a recent internship in the Boston Bruins Foundation, in his hometown Boston, MA.
Weisman is set to go and join the Bells for the summer season. “I’m excited for this opportunity and look forward to my experience in the Northwest. The Bells and the West Coast League are the perfect chance for me to continue my broadcasting career.”
