Bells Drop Regular Season Finale
In the final game of the 2012 regular season, Kris Paulino went 2-4 and hit a home run, sparking the Walla Walla Sweets (24-30) to a 4-1 victory over the Bellingham Bells (32-22) on Thursday at Joe Martin Field. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the ninth inning.
Hunter Virant picked up the win for the Walla Walla Sweets. Virant pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, seven hits and one walk while striking out four.
The Bellingham Bells' Kai Hatch was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the third, fifth, and ninth innings.
Andrew Olson (5-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
The Bells return to action in their first post-season game since 2005, this Saturday, August 11, as they take on the Wenatchee Applesox in game on of the divisional playoffs. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05. Be sure to get to the park early to avoid the long line. The ticket office will be opened at 2:00 at Joe Martin Field.
