Bells Sign Two More in State Products
The Bells have signed two more pitchers from the state of Washington to play in Bellingham during the 2012 season. Washington State pitcher Sean Hartnett and Gonzaga pitcher Karl Myers have committed to the Bells.
Sean Hartnett, a native of Kent, WA and graduate of Kentlake High School, is currently a freshman at Washington State University. Early into his first season with the Cougars, Hartnett has made 7 appearances in relief, with a total of 8 innings and an ERA of 2.25. “We are excited to have Sean, with his 6’5” frame and his low 90’s fastball, who has all the makings of being a dominant weapon out of the bullpen for us” says Bells GM Nick Caples.
Karl Myers is from Kirkland, WA where he attended Lake Washington High School and is currently a junior at Gonzaga University. Myers, listed as being 6’6” and 230 pounds, began the spring as a candidate for the Zags vacant closer role. So far in the 2012 season, he has yet to give up an earned run in 2 appearances for Gonzaga. “With his big frame, Karl has an intimidating presence on the mound and it will be exciting to see him compete for a role out of the bullpen this summer” says Caples.
