The Sweets responded with a pair of runs in the third inning and pulled even with a run in the fourth before Bellingham regained its two-run lead with a run in the sixth inning and another in the seventh.
James Wise (5-2) earned the win for Bellingham after throwing seven innings in which he allowed four runs on seven hits. Wise also walked seven and struck out five in the win. Bellingham’s Jimmy Reed tossed the final two innings in relief to pick up the save without allowing a hit.
Desico and Chris Sturdivant led the Bells offensively with two hits each and Sturdivant scored the game-winning run in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Junnior Dishmey-Perez.
