Bells, Fassold Shut Out Pirates
06/25/2010 8:22 PMThe Bells returned home in triumphant fashion Friday, June 25 after a 10-game road trip with a 3-0 victory over the Moses Lake Pirates at Joe Martin Field.
Starter Cody Fassold (2-0) threw a complete game shutout for the Bells, only allowing six hits, striking out seven, and walking two en route to his second consecutive win. Fassold now has a league-best 30 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings for Bellingham. His complete game was the fourth straight by the Bells’ starting rotation.
Frank Desico, Chris Sturdivant, Junnior Dishmey-Perez, Chris Pierce, and Wynton Bernard all had two-hit performances for the Bells as part of the team’s 12-hit night. Ben Ruff added a double with his only hit of the contest to drive in the game’s first run in the third inning.
Bellingham is now on a three-game win streak and has won four of their last five. The Bells and Pirates return to Joe Martin Field Saturday, June 26 for game two of the three-game set. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m.
