The Bellingham Bells fell, 8-3, at the hands of the Wenatchee AppleSox Sunday evening at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.
The loss marks the second time the Bells have been swept this summer, and the first time they’ve lost four consecutive games.
Wenatchee scored first for the third straight game, plating two runs on a Blake Klassen two-out single in the bottom of the first.
Ahead 2-0, they scored three more runs in the fourth before the Bells got on the scoreboard in the sixth.
Down 5-0, Guthrie Morrison scored on an error and Jake Gentry scored on a Cole Hinkelman groundout to make it 5-2.
Wenatchee bounced back with a run in the bottom of the sixth on a Hunter Montgomery solo homerun to go up 6-2.
They then added another run in the seventh on a Montgomery single, making it 7-2.
Troy Viola then scalded a homerun to left field in the top of the eighth, that bounced off the top of the wall and out, to bring the Bells one run closer at 7-3. It was his sixth homerun of the year, which is tied for best in the West Coast League.
The AppleSox added another run in the bottom of the eighth, though, to finish things at 8-3.
The Bells will have Monday off before traveling to Portland to face off againt the Pickles at Walker Stadium on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
