The Bellingham Bells lost, 5-3, in game two of a three game series to the Yakima Valley Pippins tonight at Yakima County Stadium.
The loss marks just the second time the Bells have lost back-to-back games this season.
Yakima hopped out to a 2-0 lead after scoring two runs against Bells reliever Danny Garcia in the fourth inning.
The Bells responded by plating two runs in the top of the fifth to tie things at 2-2. Christian Dicochea plated the first run with a sacrifice fly, and Guthrie Morrison followed up with an RBI single.
The Bells then took a 3-2 lead on a Cole Hinkelman single in the top of the sixth, but it would be all Pippins after that.
They tied things at 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh on a Tanner Parker sac-fly before scoring two runs off Bells reliever Cody Jensen in the bottom of the eighth, which were enough to hold on for the win.
The go-ahead run came on a Luke Schwartz two-out RBI triple to right field. After that, another scored on a throwing error by Bells shortstop Collin Burns.
The teams will play game three tomorrow at 3:05 at Yakima County Stadium.
