Bellingham Bells Pro Alumni Update

A total of 31 former Bellingham Bells have made it to the next level and appeared on or were active on a MLB affiliate roster in 2018. Below we will recap the seasons of four former Bells as they continue to represent the Bells in the professionals!
Seth Martinez - Beloit Snappers, Class A affiliate of the Oakland A's - 2014 Bellingham Bell
After being drafted in the 17th round by the A's in 2016, Martinez has climbed the ranks quickly. Starting at the Rookie level and now at Full Season A, the right-handed pitcher has had a strong showing throughout the start of his professional career. With an ERA of 3.66 over 174 innings pitched in his minor league career, he also has eight wins, 17 saves and 136 strikeouts to his name. Martinez is still active in the A's organization. 
Jack Meggs - Beloit Snappers, Class A affiliate of the Oakland A's - 2013 Bellingham Bell
Son of current University of Washington Head Baseball Coach Lindsey Meggs, Meggs is also a teammate of former Bell, Seth Martinez. Meggs went straight to Short Season-A after being drafted in the 10th round in 2017, graduating to Full Season A in 2018. The right fielder has appeared in 117 games over his career so far, with 414 at-bats and a .266 average. Meggs has also knocked nine dingers throughout his professional career. 
Beau Branton - Modesto Nuts, Class A Advanced affiliate of the Seattle Mariners - 2015 Bellingham Bell
The Hawaii native was drafted by Seattle in the 28th round just this past year. Quickly advancing from Rookie-level to Class A Advanced, Branton finished his 2018 season with an ERA of .321 over his 49 games split between the two levels. He has also recorded 18 RBIs in this time over this 168 at-bats. Beau is still active with the Mariners and will continue to represent the team well! 
Marc Rzepczynski - Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners - 2004 Bellingham Bell
One of the Bellingham Bells most successful alumni, Rzepczynski has had a very successful career as a professional. Being drafted to Toronto in the 5th round in 2007, he has been with a handful of teams, his most notable stay being with the St. Louis Cardinals when they won the World Series in 2011. During the 2018 season, Marc was acquired by Cleveland from the Mariners and then acquired by Seattle. He is currently a member of the Tacoma Rainiers. Throughout his career, the lefty has an ERA of 3.89 and 409 strikeouts. Rzepczynski's name is also currently listed on the Bells' list of most notable alumni.

About the Bellingham Bells

The Bellingham Bells are a summer collegiate, wood bat baseball team and a member of the West Coast League.  During the months of June, July & August, the Bells compete in a 57-game season, playing home games at Joe Martin Field in Bellingham and traveling to compete with other WCL teams in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. The Bells strive to contribute to a strong and vibrant community through affordable, family-friendly entertainment.
