Bells Bats Come Alive in Wenatchee
The Bellingham Bells had their bats working in Wenatchee on Thursday night as they scored 10 runs on 13 hits to defeat the Applesox 10-4 and take game three of the series.
Bellingham got things going early scoring three runs in the first inning with the big blow being a two-out two-run single from Landon Kimbro to give the Bells the lead and they never looked back.
Wenatchee scored a run in the bottom of the first and tacked on another in the third to cut the lead to one run. The score stayed at 3-2 Bells until the sixth inning when Bellingham started to pull away.
Jack Machtolf singled home Zach Needham to make it 4-2 and then the Bells broke it open when Dusty Stroup hit a mammoth homerun to center field to make it 6-2.
The Applesox would score two in the bottom of the sixth to get closer, but Bellingham removed all doubt in the eighth inning plating four runs in the inning.
Matt James hit a two-run homer for his second in as many days and Zach Needham tripled twice and was 4-4 with a walk becoming the fourth Bell to reach base five times in a game.
Carson Olson got the win for the Bells to even up his season record at 1-1.
The Bellingham Bells are now 21-11 on the year and will host the Applesox this weekend in a three game series.
