Bells Pitching Dominates in Win

06/13/2018 8:31 PM

The Bellingham Bells used another dominating pitching performance to down the Bend Elks 3-1 in game two of the series.

Nick Nastrini got the ball in his first start of the season and delivered six solid innings of one-run baseball.
The Bells bats were quiet in the first three innings again tonight but Griffin McCormick led the fourth inning off with a double and the bats woke up.
Ernie Yake followed with a single to put runners at the corners for Grant Holman.
Holman delivered with his first RBI as a Bell to give the Bells a 1-0 lead.
Ernie Yake would also come home to score in the inning and the Bells would lead 2-0 after the top of the fourth.
The Elks got a run off of Nastrini in the bottom half of the fourth to cut the lead to one.
Bellingham would quickly respond though as they scored another run in the top of the fifth inning after Cody Pasic scored on a passed ball to make it 3-1 and that was all Bellingham needed.
Theron Kay came on in the seventh and pitched two scoreless one-hit innings before Taylor Davis came on in the ninth and struck out the side for his first save of the season.
The Bells improve to 6-5 on the season with the win and will face Bend at 6:35 tomorrow in the rubber match of this three-game series.
