Bells Fall to Bend in Extra Innings

For the fourth time in ten games the Bellingham Bells played their way in extra innings against the Bend Elks before falling 7-6 in 11 innings. 

Bend starter Ryan Mets threw three no hit innings to begin the game but did not find the same success on the second time through the order. 
The Bells blasted two homers and six hits in the fourth inning to put six runs on the scoreboard and take a 6-0 lead. 
Jordan Stoner hit a solo shot and Matt James hit a three-run bomb in the inning and it looked as if the Bells were going to run away with it. 
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Elks responded quickly. The Elks scored five runs capped off by a Tristan Alvarez two-run homer to cut the lead to one. 
After the fourth, both pitching staffs settled in once again and threw zeros on the scoreboard until the bottom of the seventh inning. 
In the bottom of the seventh, the Elks were able to push a run home to tie the ball game at six.
After a scoreless eighth and ninth innings, the Bells headed to extra innings for the fourth time this season and the Elks walked it off in the bottom of the tenth to win 7-6 and send the Bells to 1-3 in extra inning games and 5-5 overall.
Trevor DeLaite took the loss for the Bells who will be back at it again on Wednesday at 6:35 from Bend.
