Nick Silva (2016)
College baseball season has only been around for the past two weeks, but Silva is off to a great start. Silva recently earned his second consecutive America East Pitcher of the Week award while playing for the University of Maine Black Bears. Last Sunday, he led his team to a 6-0 victory over South Dakota State, pitching 6.0 scoreless innings and earning his first win on the season. Silva was also a great asset to the Bells last season, recording 3 wins with an ERA of 2.05 over five appearances. To read more about Silva and the Black Bears, click here.
Andrew Summerville (2014, 2015)
On Tuesday, Summerville was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week after pitching six hitless innings against Kansas. Summerville and Stanford freshman pitcher Will Matthiessen combined for a one-hitter in the 6-0 victory over Kansas, recording the fifth one-hitter in Stanford history. Summerville appeared in 12 games for the Bells during the 2014 Championship season and returned in 2015 to make another 7 appearances. To read more about Summerville, click here
Christian Jones (2016)
Labeled as an "X-Factor," Jones is looking to make a major impact on the UW Huskies this season as a freshman. The top-100 recruit and Gatorade Washington State Player of the Year was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 31st round of the 2016 MLB Draft, but chose to delay going professional in lieu of taking his talents to UW. So far in his freshman campaign with the Huskies, Jones has two RBIs and one home run in 3 game appearances, and will look to create more of an impact as the season progresses. Jones was a late addition to the Bells in 2016, but his efforts helped push the Bells into the WCL Championship Series. Read more about the "X-Factor" by following this link
