The Walla Wall Sweets scored four runs in the 7th inning to take a late lead over the Bells and hang on to win, 7-6.
The Sweets offense was clicking early, in the first they inning scored a run on a blooper to left field from catcher Beau Fraser. Another Sweets run came across in the second on a lead off homerun from Ben Ruff and the fourth on a sacrifice fly from Kalani Brackenridge.
The Bells put together a four run rally in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead. Jonny Locher had an RBI single and Johnny Farrington drove in the game tying RBI with a hit to left. The next batter, Des Santos, ripped a double down the left field line bringing in Locher to give the Bells the lead.
Bellingham added runs in the 5th and 6th on an RBI triple from Grant Fink and double off the bat of Andrew Ely, extending the lead to 6-3.
The Sweets big inning came in the 7th. Jacob Coats allowed a lead off single to Brackenridge and then walked three consecutive batters brining in a run. After a wild pitch made the score 6-5, John Albert came out of the bullpen and gave up a two RBI double to J.J. Robinson that gave the Sweets the lead.
The loss went to Jacob Coats, who did not record an out, allowing four runs on one hit and three walks. The win was given to Luke West pitching a scoreless bottom of the 6th.
The loss brings the Bells to 32-21 on the year. Tomorrow is fan appreciation day and the regular season finale. The game is scheduled for 7:05 first pitch from Joe Martin Field.
