08/07/2012 11:46 PM

The Bells get a dramatic walk off victory in the bottom of the 10th inning from John Albert, taking game two with the Sweets, 3-2.

The Sweets took an early lead in the top of the first. Kris Paulino led off with a walk, after a sacrifice bunt that moved Paulino to second; a flare single to left from Spencer O’Neil made it a 1-0 game.

Bellingham was quick to respond, in the bottom of the first inning Andrew Ely got on by an error. Derek Atkinson drew a walk, and with two outs and two strikes Jarel Lewis drove a single to left that tied the game, 1-1.

There would be no scoring until the top of the 8th inning. Against Bells relief pitcher Chris Harper the Sweets put together three consecutive two out hits bringing in a run on an Alex Bonczyk single.

The Bells trailed heading into the 9th.  Grant Fink lead off with a double, Lewis would fly out and pinch hitter Rouric Bridewater struck out. Michael Leach came to the plate with two outs and again the Bells got a two-strike hit to tie the game, 2-2.

With the score the same in the bottom of the 10th, Des Santos led off with a walk. When Ely attempted to bunt him over the Sweets committed their third error of the night making it runners at first and third with no outs. Atkinson grounded out and Fink was intentional walked to load the bases. Lewis struck out bringing John Albert up. In his second at bat of the season, Albert dropped a single to left to win the game

The win went to Davis Engel, who came in from the bullpen in the 9th.

The win brought the Bells record to 32-20 on the season and they are 18-6 at home. Game three of the series will be tomorrow at 7:05 from Joe Martin Field.
