The Bells have signed two more pitchers to their roster for the upcoming season. Jeff Gonzales from Bellevue College and Chris Harper from Ohlone College are the two most recent additions to the Bells.
Jeff Gonzales is a 6-foot tall, 170-pound sophomore at Bellevue College. Originally from Bellevue, Gonzales attended Newport High School where he was a two-year varsity letter winner and named All-KingCo 4A second team pitcher as a senior. During his senior season, Gonzales recorded a 1.20 ERA while striking out 51 batters and allowing only 26 hits in 41 innings. His team finished fourth in state during his junior season. General manager Nick Caples says, “Jeff has great command of his pitches and with a second season of college ball under his belt, he is sure to be an integral member of our pitching staff.”
Left-handed pitcher, Chris Harper, is a sophomore at Ohlone College. Harper is originally from Cupertino, California where he attended Monta Vista High School. The 6-foot-2-inch tall lefty pitched 19 innings his senior season and struck out 36 batters while only allowing 11 hits and zero earned runs. Harper was named Player of the Week in high school for his performance on the mound and at bat. Harper recorded a batting average of .429 at the end of his senior year. Caples said, “Chris is a known leader among his peers and a great competitor. We are looking forward to having him play in Bellingham this summer.”
