Two big pitchers and a utility infielder have been added to the Bellingham Bells 2011 roster.
Two of the newest Bells are Aaron Wolfson and Carsen Nylund who are both 6-foot-4-inch right handed pitchers that hail from the University of California, San Diego and Lewis-Clark State, respectively. Another member of the UC San Diego Tritons, Scott Zeman, will also join the Bellingham club is an infielder.
Wolfson is a freshman at UC San Diego who played at Sage Hill High School in Newport Beach, Calif., while Nylund is a native of Surrey, British Columbia, and played high school baseball at Fleetwood Park Secondary.
“We are looking forward to having these two big righties on the mound for us this summer,” Bells head coach Gary Hatch said. “Aaron (Wolfson) and Carsen (Nylund) are young pitchers but they have tremendous upside. We are sure they will contribute to our staff and our program during the upcoming season.”
Zeman is also a member of the UC San Diego baseball team who will be joining the Bells this summer. He is a Southern California native who played high school baseball while attending Buena High School in Ventura, Calif. He also played with La Cabana of Jim Colborn Baseball League during the summer of 2010.
“Scott Zeman will be a nice addition to our club,” said Bells general manager Blake Buswell. “He is a great kid who plays for a quality college program.”
The Bells open their season on June 3 at Joe Martin Field against the Kelowna Falcons.
