Bellingham (21-22) built a two run lead after scoring single runs in the first and third innings, but the Pirates (17-22) started a late comeback in the fifth. Moses Lake scored their lone run against Bells starter Cordell Greene in the fifth inning before getting to the bullpen with a pair of runs in the eighth inning. With no outs and the bases loaded, Ruff took to the mound and struck out three straight batters to get the Bells out of the bind.
Greene finished the night with four strikeouts in seven complete innings of work on the mound before giving way to the pen. John Volk and Jimmy Reed each gave up two hits without recording an out in the eighth inning before Ruff (2-2) shut down the Pirates.
At the plate, the Bells collected 11 hits in the contest including two each from Travis Anderson, Ben Grubb, and Brady Anderson.
After winning their first series in West Coast League action since taking two of three games from Corvallis in early July, the Bells wrap up the road portion of the 2010 regular season with three games against the Walla Walla Sweets.
