The Bellingham Bells used a strong pitching performance from Nick Nastrini and Co. to shutout the Cowlitz Black Bears 5-0 for their eighth straight win.
Bellingham overcame a slow start and roped four straight singles in the fourth inning to take a 2-0 lead.
Zach Needham and Matt James both drove home a run in the fourth.
James added another run in the sixth inning after he blasted a homer to right field. It was his second on the year and his 13th RBI of the season, which leads the team.
That was all that Nastrini needed as the UCLA-bound right-hander was dominant tonight. The San Diego native tossed seven shutout innings including retiring 14 batters in a row at one point en route to his second win of the year.
Nastrini allowed just three hits, walked one and struck out three.
Carson Olson and Ryan Och each pitched a scoreless to help piece together the shutout.
The Bells added two more runs in the ninth inning to take a 5-0 lead and they never looked back.
Bellingham mashed 13 hits for the second straight day as they now have won eight straight games and are a league best 13-5 on the year.
The Bells continue their roadtrip on Friday as they travel to Victoria to take on the Harbourcats in the first of a three game series at 6:35.
